Fees for Therapy

Cancellation policy: If you need to postpone or cancel an appointment, we request that you let us know 24 hours in advance. Perspectives Therapy Center reserves the right to charge for no-shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

Do you accept insurance?

Michelle, Ed, Valerie and Yvette are contracted with various insurance providers. Your therapist can provide more information for you based on their individual rates and policies including the specific insurance providers they are in-network with or out-of-network.

Health insurance plans and benefits vary. We have provided this downloadable questionnaire as a “tool” to help you ask the appropriate questions when calling your insurance provider. For Yvette, benefits can be verified prior to your first session as long as the appropriate intake information has been provided through the private client portal at least 48 business hours before the initial appointment.

Why Pay Privately / "Out of Pocket"

One word, “control.”

  • A mental health diagnosis is required by insurance

  • Many providers will dictate the type, frequency and longevity of therapy

  • Insurance companies have access to your records at any time

  • Many insurance companies do not cover couples/relational or family therapy

  • The mental health diagnosis required by insurance companies becomes a part of your permanent health care record. This may lead to limitations such as denial for quality life insurance or health insurance later on.

By paying privately or out of pocket, we can assure private pay clients of the highest degree of privacy, flexibility and control of their mental health record allowed by Minnesota state law. Our records are exempt from insurance reporting and random compliance audits. This truly allows our work together to be private.

In addition, many insurance companies require a deductible to be met before they start paying, so you may be paying out of pocket anyway.

We will work collaboratively to decide how often to attend therapy and you decide what you want to focus on. You have the control, not the insurance company.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
