How do I know if therapy is right for me and/or my child?

Therapy can be helpful for people who are having social and emotional difficulties in their lives. You may consider seeking help through therapy if you find that you or your children are reliving the same problems either at school, work, or in relationships with others.

Therapy is a judgement free zone where you can be you. You and your therapist work together as a team to determine your goals. Your therapist will check in with you to make sure that those goals are being achieved. Therapy can be a way to:

  • Process through the stages of grief
  • Problem solve
  • Develop effective coping skills to deal with everyday stressors
  • Increase quality of life
  • Engage in reflection
  • Learn how to create a support network
  • Improve interpersonal relationships by healing past wounds
  • Help children and adolescents with normal development issues
  • Improve couple and/or family connection
  • Repair relationship betrayals for couples
  • Heal trauma
  • Discover who you are and who you are not
  • Work through various emotions that continue to haunt you

If we share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.
